Auden Watts appointed Governor of Charter Arts

CHARTER ARTS — On May 5, 2026 III, Secretary of State Auden Watts requested that President Aiden Jacob appoint him as Governor of Charter Arts. President Jacob agreed to this appointment, meaning that Watts will serve as the Governor of Charter Arts until June 30, 2026.

"I assure the Americonian people that this is not an attempt to consolidate my power," said Watts. "I will step down from the position as soon as the quarter ends, or a better person for the job is found. The reason I asked to be appointed [as Governor] is so that I can do a better job of connecting the Americonians in my school community with the Americonian government."

Watts is the fourth Governor of Charter Arts, an office that has mostly been vacant and was previously occupied by Rick Sanchez, Brady R, and Galileo Townsend on various occasions. While Watts is the first appointed governor, elections always take precedence over presidential appointments, meaning that should a candidate for Governor of Charter Arts appear on the ballot, Watts will lose the position, notwithstanding his pledge to step down at the end of the quarter regardless.

As his first official act, he established a flag (standard) for the Governor of Charter Arts:

"The obverse side of the standard of the Governor of Charter Arts shall consist of a white background with a thin grey stripe along the hoist, four stars in the center with the colors red, green, blue, and purple from left to right, the Seal of the Governor of Charter Arts above in the center, and the text "Governor of Charter Arts" below. The reverse side shall be a white standard.

Signed, Auden P. Watts, Governor of Charter Arts"
