Mysterious Audio Claims “Shadow Government,” Likely a Prank

On January 17, President Aiden Jacob of the United Friends of America received an audio file from an unknown number. The message claimed the existence of a secret and illegitimate organization calling itself the Bureau of Extracurricular Affairs, which the caller claimed was stealing tokens and manipulating UFA government officials.

According to the audio, the supposed group began as an informal chat meant to “help improve the UFA,” but allegedly evolved into what the caller described as a “shadow government.” The speaker claimed the group had made policy decisions without presidential knowledge and pressured members of the executive branch.

Hey, um, I'm part of- I'm calling on UFA business. So I'm part of a group called the Bureau of Extracurricular Affairs. It's a separate group chat. Uh, it's made to help the UFA. Uh, improve the UFA. And I think it started as that. But recently, it's turned into much more of a shadow government. It has been taking tokens from the UFA government. It has been influencing it to make help- to help make laws that will benefit them.

It's made policies without, uh, showing them to the president and it's making demands of the vice president. I thought that, um, I thought that someone should know about it. Especially you, because you're a president. But, uh, yeah, I just wanted to bring this to light for the good of the UFA. And for democracy!

Statement from the President of the UFA

"I am not sure of the legitimacy of this file. Everything inside are allegations. There isn't much evidence to suggest that there is a Bureau of Extracurricular Affairs and I don't understand why someone would want to control the UFA. I will take this up with our Vice President and Secretary of State. However, I doubt the existence of a UFA shadow government. May democracy prevail."

While the message references familiar anxieties from the UFA’s past, including echoes of Nico Party–era rhetoric, it is far more likely that the audio is a prank or an attempt to generate intrigue and drama rather than a genuine threat. DEMOCRACY! News reminds readers that the UFA is a student-run micronation, not a covert intelligence battleground.
