Editor’s Note

Hello, lovely readers of DEMOCRACY! News! I apologize for the long gap between Weekly Updates. I have been fairly busy as of late, and there hasn’t been a lot to write about. However, I assure you that starting now, Weekly Updates will actually be released weekly, meaning every week. I sincerely thank you in for your patience. Enjoy today’s issue!

President Sedicum

Faith Sedicum, a musician and congresswoman from Charter Arts, was elected President on June 5, 2025, and was inaugurated on July 1. Since her inauguration, she has declared every day National Ukie Day and made “Mountains and Valley” the UFA’s national anthem.

Sedicum was a Member of Congress for two consecutive terms and a partial appointed term during 2024 Q4. During this time, she voted on several bills and passed laws considered essential to life in the modern UFA.

Her campaign promises included starting an Americonian soccer league, expanding the nation, improving the economy, and starting environmental service projects. There are eighty days left in her presidency to achieve these objectives.

Sedicum is not the only new government official this quarter. Her cousin, Plog Pino, is our new Vice President. A new Member of Congress, Avery H.R., was also elected. In addition, Lana Z. was elected to the office of Secretary of Education, and Vanessa Z., Joseph Z., and Cayson H. were inaugurated as Supreme Court justices. At the governate level, Brady R. was inaugurated as Governor of Charter Arts, Emma H. as Governor of West Florida, and Fiona S. as Governor of SMS.

Rise for the Anthem

The Americonian patriotic song “Mountains and Valleys” was made the official national anthem of the UFA by President Sedicum. The tune and lyrics were composed by former president Auden Watts. A link to a recording of the song will be posted soon.
