Tractor Trailer Parking Prohibited at SteelStacks
by Auden Watts
A sign was recently discovered at the parking lot behind SteelStacks. The sign reads "NO TRACTOR TRAILER PARKING", which indicates semi-trailer trucks are not permitted to be parked in the lot. This sign was discovered by the President of the United Friends of America on his recent trip to the premises, and it sparked more questions than answers.
SteelStacks is a popular tourist destination in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It was once the factory operated by Bethlehem Steel, the former global leader in the steel industry. Its location is adjacent to the Charter Arts Governate. The parking lot in question is on the opposite side of the foundry from Charter Arts. It is large and at first glance appears to have plenty of room to park tractor-trailers. The sign was likely posted by the official governing authority of SteelStacks, which is a historic site.
It is unknown why the government of Bethlehem would want to impose a regulation like this. Levitt Pavilion, which is a venue on the premises, prohibits smoking, skateboarding, and tailgating on the premises, among other things which can be seen on their website. However, there is no information about the parking of tractor-trailers. The motivation behind a ban on tractor-trailer parking may be benign or nefarious. Very little research has been done on the subject and it is unknown when the law was implemented - or if it is ever enforced. Because of the officiality of the sign, it is not advisable to park one's tractor-trailer in that parking lot until further notice.
